RCB radio will be presenting an original and distinctive series of radio broadcasts called Rambling Corca Baiscinn from Monday April 10th. This 6 part series of programs will re-create the rambling house of our near past. 6 locations have been selected from across West Clare to host evenings of song, music and story connected to the local area. Each program has been carefully researched to source music, story, history and a diversity of contributors to celebrate their Place.The programmes are pre-recorded and will be broadcast on Mondays after the 1 oclock news. Its aim is to rekindle a spirit of community and to share collective identity, drawing its inspiration from the Rambling House and ‘cuaird’ traditions. Rambling Corca Baiscinn will bring together friends, families and neighbours in a celebration of Place and community.You can find the station in the south west area of Clare on 92.5 or 94.8 FM or alternately, you can listen live online at RCB.ie.

Lorna Moloney’s doctoral thesis, ‘From Gaelic Lordship to English Shire: The MacNamaras of Clare, c.1259-1603′, is being supervised by Professor Steven Ellis. Lorna’s academic profile can viewed at http://nuigalway.academia.edu/LornaMoloney. She has delivered conference papers at Oxford; Lincoln College: Exploration of the Medieval Gaelic Diet: (2012); seminar papers at the Moore Institute in NUI Galway, ‘The Gaelic Lordships in Thomond, c. 1400-c.1500’ and papers at Irish Conference of Medievalists on themes of Brian Boru and landscape of East Clare. Lorna has published on medieval themes and on maritime subjects.
Lorna received her Certificate for the Advancement of Forensic Genealogy (CAFG) in Dallas in March 2015.
