RCB Sports Show

Welcome to the RCB Sports show where Adrian chat’s with Nicholas Rynne about all things GAA. Minor and U20’s games the ladies Football and Camogie news followed by a special show on this Sunday’s epic cycling race, the 107th edition of Tour of Flanders with special guest, Morgan Fox. Morgan is a former National Champion, Sports Director and co-owner of Ireland’s only Pro Cycling Team, Evo Pro Racing Team. Morgan and Adrian analyse the 270km race which is the biggest one classic of the racing calendar.

This week we also have a special show for all the Pro Cycling fan’s who will be tuning into this weekends 107th edition of the Tour of Flanders on this Sunday. RCB’S Adrian O’ Connor chat’s with special guest Morgan Fox, former Irish National Cycling Champion and Sports Director & Co-owner of Ireland’s only Pro cycling Team, Evo Pro Racing. Morgan was Professional rider for many year’s and raced many of the cobbled classics in Europe. Adrian and Morgan chat about the race favourites, the cobbles, problem’s disc brakes in the peloton and his experience racing in the spring classics as a pro.

The Genealogy Show – Place Names and Genealogy

Lorna is a Professional Genealogist and Family Historian. She is a longstanding member of the Association of Professional Genealogist. Lorna is the Resident Genealogist for Dromoland Castle in County Clare. Lorna worked as Project Genealogist for George Boole *200 genealogy project for University College Cork and is an excellent researcher for Irish family histories.

Lorna produces and presents the successful show: ‘The Genealogy Radio show’ aired each Thursday at 4p.m. from beautiful Kilkee, Co. Clare at Raidio Corcabaiscinn and Podcasts are available weekly.

Lorna has delivered conference papers at Oxford; Lincoln College: Exploration of the Medieval Gaelic Diet: (2012); seminar papers at the Moore Institute in NUI Galway, ‘The Gaelic Lordships in Thomond, c. 1400-c.1500’ and papers at Irish Conference of Medievalists on themes of Brian Boru and landscape of East Clare. Lorna has published on medieval themes and on maritime subjects. Her research areas are the MacNamaras and O’Briens of Thomond.

Lorna received her Certificate for the Advancement of Forensic Genealogy (CAFG) in Dallas in March 2015.

Radio Beams show this week in well know owners of Moring Dew Cafe and Gift Shop in Corofin. Both Nadaa and Nolan came from Canada to try this new adventure in Corofin.
With Jack a former son of the owner of Campbells pub in the village of Corofin.
Both are very excited about the move to a village setting in north Clare .
Both are from Toronto in Canada.

We also chat about the Clare Ladies Football win over Louth last Sunday and Clare Camogie. We chat about the last round of the National Hurling League this Sunday between Clare and Limerick at Cusack Park and we discuss Rugby and the Double Six Nation’s Grand Slam win over England in both the Senior Men’s and the U20’s last weekend followed by the RCB Sports News where Adrian covers the latest GAA news, Rugby, Irish Soccer and Irish Cycling, Local and International.

Melanie talks about the origins of the Cliffs of Moher Experience.
Where over decades tourist visited the Cliffs in small numbers. Since the development over 25 years ago the numbers have reached one million and a quarter in 2019.
Melanie travels to many parts of the world promoting tourism and tells visitors about the offering at the Cliffs and the wider area of the Burren. Also invites local producers to show their products at the Cliffs.

Radio Beams show this week is with well know Loretta O Dea O Callaghan who lives in Kilrush. In her mid life she discovered she could and did write poetry. Wonderful writing and hopes to get it in to a book form. She lived in Dublin and London for a period. Tune in Tuesday 3.30pm on www.rcb.ie
