Dublin South Local Broadcasting Co-Operative – known as Dublin South FM 93.9FM Community Radio confirms that it has been awarded a new Ten Year Broadcasting Contract/Licence by Coimisiún na Meán this week.
The contract which was signed by Jeremy Godfrey, Executive Chairperson, and
Rónán Ó’Domhnaill, Media Development Commissioner, with Aileen Eglington, Chairperson of Dublin South FM, and Bryan Fox, Vice Chairperson on Tuesday 2nd July 2024, at Coimisiún na Meán office.
Dublin South FM 93.9 Community Radio’s office have been based at Dundrum Town Centre, Dundrum, since the Centre was finished as part of their commitment to the community of DLR .
Dublin South FM 93.9 Community was co-founded by Mike Purcell in 1995, and so the celebrates 30 years broadcasting and serving the community in 2025. A huge achievement for volunteering, and indeed passion for both local radio and for community service.
Said Aileen Eglington, Chairperson” I am on the Board serving now for 10 years, and as the current Chairperson, it is an honour for me, and my fellow volunteers and broadcasters, to have been awarded this new Licence so that we can continue to serve our community in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown”.

Dublin South FM broadcasts every day from 11am to 11pm, led by Peter Rice, Station Manager, with a team of 15 staff, supported by employment schemes and with 100 volunteer broadcasters and producers, as well as the Board consisting also of Mike Purcell, John Spollen, Marian Shanley, Martha Lynam and Eimer Duffy. www.dublinsouthfm.ie
