A Little Bit of Gardening – Rockeries and Stumperies.

When we are planning out our gardens, the choice of trees, shrubs and flowers are endless. There are plants for every position and we can soon fill our beds and borders and create environments that fill us with pride, and soothe and relax us.
But what about those awkward little nooks and corners, where the ground is too dry and unable to support even grass or too shady to work with.. These little pockets within our gardens give us a fantastic opportunity to try something a bit different, such as a Rockery or a Stumpery. So that is what we are looking at today, Rockeries and Stumperies..

RCB Out & About – Ukrainians in Kilbaha June 2024.

Teresa meets the Ukrainian residents currently based in Kilbaha. The friends and colleagues of this group are distraught at the imposing plan to move the people on, where to? no one knows! There have been many emotional meetings with the residents of Loop Head Peninsular and local counsellors to see if the well loved visitors can remain in their current location.
Services have improved in the Kilbaha & West Clare surroundings due to the small increase in population, thanks to the Ukrainian visitors. It’s a first class model of how one community supports and integrates with another not letting language get in the way. True Irish and Ukrainian hospitality at it’s best.
