In this weeks RCB Sports Show, Adrian O’ Connor chats with Seamus Hayes on this weekends GAA and the big football finals starting with the Tus Senior Football Championships Final This Sunday in Cusack Park, the Men’s intermediate Football Final in Doonbeg and the Ladies Senior A & B Football finals on in Miltown which take place this Saturday. Adrian chats in Studio with West Clare Gaels backroom staff member, Niall Bonfill about this Saturday’s anticipated Clare Ladies Senior Football Final against the Banner Ladies. Adrian caught up with Kilmihil’s Selector and Club Chairman, Paul Reidy to chat about their bid for the Clare intermediate championship. Also in studio this week, Adrian chatted with Jane Graham on her new Kettlebell Classes that will start in the Kilkee Community Centre on Tuesday nights starting on the 24th of October and run’s for 6 weeks. Jane is a 5 time All Ireland Kettlebell Champion so you are in good hands. Next is the RCB Sports News where Adrian brings you the local GAA news and the latest stats on tomorrows World Rugby Championship quarter finals between Ireland and New Zealand to round off a great RCB Sports Show.

The Genealogy Show – Tips for writing up your family history.

Lorna is a Professional Genealogist and Family Historian. She is a longstanding member of the Association of Professional Genealogist. Lorna is the Resident Genealogist for Dromoland Castle in County Clare. Lorna worked as Project Genealogist for George Boole *200 genealogy project for University College Cork and is an excellent researcher for Irish family histories.

Lorna produces and presents the successful show: ‘The Genealogy Radio show’ aired each Thursday at 4p.m. from beautiful Kilkee, Co. Clare at Raidio Corcabaiscinn and Podcasts are available weekly.

Lorna has delivered conference papers at Oxford; Lincoln College: Exploration of the Medieval Gaelic Diet: (2012); seminar papers at the Moore Institute in NUI Galway, ‘The Gaelic Lordships in Thomond, c. 1400-c.1500’ and papers at Irish Conference of Medievalists on themes of Brian Boru and landscape of East Clare. Lorna has published on medieval themes and on maritime subjects. Her research areas are the MacNamaras and O’Briens of Thomond.

Lorna received her Certificate for the Advancement of Forensic Genealogy (CAFG) in Dallas in March 2015.

Dixie Collins of the West Clare Currach Club drops to tell us a bit about the history of club and the upcoming Cruinniú in Kilkee this Saturday October 14th from 12pm at the Kilkee Community Centre.

Welcome to another RCB Sports Show hosted by Adrian O’ Connor with special guest, Nicholas Rynne of Clare GAA TV. This week we chat about the Senior and intermediate Hurling semi finals this weekend in Cusack Park and around Clare. Crusheen vs Scariff this Saturday 4pm in Cusack Park, also Feakle clash with Clonlara this Sunday in Cusack Park at 1pm. We also look back at last weekends Men’s and Ladies Senior football semi finals. We want to wish the Kilkee-Bealaha Junior Men’s Hurling team all the best in their semi final clash with Clonbony in Kilmaley tomorrow at 1pm. We’d also like to wish the West Clare Gaels all the best as the meet the Banner Ladies in the Senior Club Championship County Final next Saturday the 14th in Hennessy Park – Midtown.

This week the show opens with Seamus Hayes & Adrian O’ Connor discussing all the action from the Clare Senior Hurling Championships and the Clare Senior Football Championships. This RCB sports show features interviews with Niall Bonfil and Tomas Bonfil from Naomh Eoin Football Club. This is the first time the West Clare Club have ever being in an intermediate semi final. They meet Kilimhil in Doonbeg this Sunday at 1pm followed by Clare Ladies Senior Football Semi Final between the West Clare Gaels and Kilimhil. Also on the show, David Byrne from the Kilkee/Bealaha Men’s Junior C Hurling Team who clashed with Clonbony in Inagh last Saturday night. Kilkee/Bealaha are now into the Semi Final. Adrian chats in studio with Luke Moriarty and Victoria Abrams of the West Clare Taekwon-do Club who competed in the World ITF Taekwon-do Championships in Finland this month. Luke brought home two medals to Clare winning the Gold in the World Team Sparring and Silver in the Individual Sparing competition.
