Lorna is a Professional Genealogist and Family Historian. She is a longstanding member of the Association of Professional Genealogist. Lorna is the Resident Genealogist for Dromoland Castle in County Clare. Lorna worked as Project Genealogist for George Boole *200 genealogy project for University College Cork and is an excellent researcher for Irish family histories.

Lorna produces and presents the successful show: ‘The Genealogy Radio show’ aired each Thursday at 4p.m. from beautiful Kilkee, Co. Clare at Raidio Corcabaiscinn and Podcasts are available weekly.

Lorna has delivered conference papers at Oxford; Lincoln College: Exploration of the Medieval Gaelic Diet: (2012); seminar papers at the Moore Institute in NUI Galway, ‘The Gaelic Lordships in Thomond, c. 1400-c.1500’ and papers at Irish Conference of Medievalists on themes of Brian Boru and landscape of East Clare. Lorna has published on medieval themes and on maritime subjects. Her research areas are the MacNamaras and O’Briens of Thomond.

Lorna received her Certificate for the Advancement of Forensic Genealogy (CAFG) in Dallas in March 2015.

Radio Beams – Martina Durac Directore and Chair Niamh O Donovan of Ennis Book Festival.

Radio Beams show this week is with two people who are immersed in the 18th Ennis Book Club Festival. One is the Artistic Director Marian Durac . Chair is Niamh O Donovan Executive of Clare Libraries
Martina has a Directed a lot of programmes with TG4 doc. Along with many other works with other bodies.
Niamh says this will bring a lot of business to Ennis over the 3 days.
Both Glor Ennis and Temple Gate Hotel will be the hub of the Ennis Book Club Festival. Other venues will play a part.

Teresa interviews Roisin Horgan from Kilrush Citizens Information who has advice for anyone struggling with or having housing problems and can be contacted on 0818075310. RCB Sports Show – Clare win against Offaly.

In this weeks RCB Sports Show, Adrian chats with Nicholas Rynne and Seamus Hayes as they discuss the weeks action across GAA, Rugby and Swimming. They look at Clare’s win against Offaly in both the Men’s and Women’s Senior football. They also chat about next weekends clash between the Clare Senior Hurlers and Wexford. Seamus and Adrian chat about this weekends Damian Carmody Cup in Doonbeg on Saturday.

Loop Head Rowing Club Skiff Build with Adrian O’Connor

In a West Clare village called Carrigaholt, a wooden rowing boat called a St. Ayles Skiff is being built by a newly formed Loop Head Rowing Club. The weekly boat build is held every Saturday in Carrigaholt where 16 members of the local community gather to build this boat under the guidence of local shipwright, Stephen Morris. Adrian chats with some of the great people behind this project and also with Breda O’ Driscoll from the Limerick and Clare Education & Training Board who are partnered with the Loop Head Rowing Club. This programme gives you a little insight into a typical Saturday at the Loop Head boat built. Produced and edited by Adrian O’ Connor for RCB Community Radio in Kilkee.

In this weeks RCB Sports Show, Adrian chats with Clare Sports Reporter, Seamus Hayes as they look at the weekends sports, the Clare senior hurlers win over Waterford, Clare senior ladies football draw with Roscommon in Ennis, Ireland’s Six Nation win over Italy in both the U20’s and the Men’s Team. They also look at this weekends coming GAA event. Seamus and Adrian chat about two hurling neighbours and rivals, Lisheen and Ballynacally before the Ballyea hurling club was formed and a little about Lisheen hurling club and its players. Seamus tell us about the 1963 County Junior Football Final between Lissycasey and Moohane.

Radio Beams – Niall Cleary pub life in Bofeys Corofin and how he got there.

Radio Beams show this week is well know Niall Cleary joint owner of Bofey Quinns Bar & Restaurant in Corofin, A Dublin man who trained a chef in Berkley Court Hotel in Dublin. Went to London with his wife Trish Cleary.
Decided to come to Corofin as his dad had retired there. Bought the pub and restaurants. in 1993.
Now only operating 3 days a week due to cost of running pub due to lack of customers.
Niall have got two artificial hips and wishes to retire . Now in the last number of years Niall has trained in a new profession .

On today’s show Padraig speaks to County Limerick Author Tom Fitzgerald about his latest crime novel ‘The Truth about Lies’ set in Killarney the story revolves around the dissapearance of a French student. Tom will be at Banner Books this Sunday, February 18th.
