Welcome to. the RCB Sports show hosted by Adrian O’ Connor along with Clare sports reporter, Seamus Hayes. In this week’s show we chat about the weekends Intermediate football results with wins by O’ Curry’s and Naomh Eoin in their groups. We also chat about the upcoming Men’s SHC and IHC quarter finals and Mens Junior semi finals between Kilkee/Bealaha and Killenana with Clonbony clashing with Ennistymon. Later in the show Adrian went to visit the Loop Head Boat building project in Carrigaholt where he met with Breda O’ Driscoll of the Limerick & Clare Education Training Board and also with the LHRC Boat build coordinator Seamus Graham who has been the visionery & driving force behind this new boat and Local Shipwright Steven Morris who has brought his many years of his experience to teach the locals how to build a skiff.

Clare Leader Forum invites you all to Culture Night at Kaifein Café

The Clare Leader Forum warmly invites the public to No Limits: Beyond Boundaries at Kaifein Café, Queens Hotel, Ennis, on Friday, September 20th from 6 pm to 8 pm, as part of Culture Night. The event will feature readings from two important works and live music, offering an evening of reflection, learning, and connection.

The first book, *We Are Human Too*, is a collaborative effort co-produced by The Clare Leader Forum and edited by Ann Marie Flanagan. This significant work spans over 100 years, preceding the foundation of the State and continuing to the present day. It elevates 100 voices, exploring critical themes such as theocracy, capitalism, and nationalism, in justifying the continued institutionalization of disabled people. It highlighting the highs of social justice movements, the development of the social model of disability, defines human rights and the development of the Disabled people’s movement in Ireland. The book not only reflects on what has been achieved but also shines a light on what remains to be done, particularly in calling out systemic ableism. *We Are Human Too* serves as a call to action for each reader to become an ally in the ongoing fight for equality and justice for disabled people.

Attendees will also be treated to readings from *Never Know Your Place: A Memoir of a Rulebreaker*, edited by Joanna Marsden. This memoir tells the life story of disability activist Martin Naughton, a tireless advocate for disability rights and social justice.

Local activist Martin Tobin expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “This is a unique opportunity to celebrate the voices of those often unheard and to learn from the experiences shared in these important books. The power of storytelling can break barriers and open minds.”

Editor Ann Marie Flanagan shared her excitement for the event: “We look forward to bringing the community together for an evening that celebrates the strength and spirit of disabled people. Through these readings, we can explore the power of literature and music to change perspectives and promote inclusion.”

The Genealogy Show – The Mac and the O.

Lorna worked as Project Genealogist for George Boole *200 genealogy project for University College Cork and is an excellent researcher for Irish family histories.

Lorna produces and presents the successful show: ‘The Genealogy Radio show’ aired each Thursday at 4p.m. from beautiful Kilkee, Co. Clare at Raidio Corcabaiscinn and Podcasts are available weekly.

Lorna has delivered conference papers at Oxford; Lincoln College: Exploration of the Medieval Gaelic Diet: (2012); seminar papers at the Moore Institute in NUI Galway, ‘The Gaelic Lordships in Thomond, c. 1400-c.1500’ and papers at Irish Conference of Medievalists on themes of Brian Boru and landscape of East Clare. Lorna has published on medieval themes and on maritime subjects. Her research areas are the MacNamaras and O’Briens of Thomond.

Lorna received her Certificate for the Advancement of Forensic Genealogy (CAFG) in Dallas in March 2015.

Old Farming Ways – Episode 3: Pig Farming

Old Farming Ways is a new Series presented by Adrian O’ Connor. In Episode 3, ‘Pig Farming’ Carmel O’ Connor casts her memory back to when her father, William Commane of Rockmount Cross and the days when he kept over 300 pigs. Carmel tells us how her father used gruel to feed the pigs back in the old days and when it was phased out. She also tells us about her father’s ability to make their own clothes and how he taught her to sew & stitch.

Radio Beams – David Slattery was a jockey in UK, then took up music.

Radio Beams show this week is with well know David Slattery.
David grew up in Clarecastle and emigrated to Uk AT 17 to take up the work as a jockey. While he enjoyed it and won two significant races he found it hard hard to keep the weight down. He learned a lot.
At 47 he came back.Bought a few horses but he got involved in music and epically the Jame Circle .
Now he has branched out and now making his own CDs.
He is developing his own following.

Programming Controller – Temporary Position

Programming Coordinator 39 hours per week CSP

• The role of the Programming Coordinator is to lead and oversee all broadcast production operations of the Station. The Programming Coordinator reports to the Station Manager.

• To coordinate and organise day to day programming and schedule ensuring all programmes are prepared, up to date, and all presenters are in place.

• To cover presenter roles and provide desk support to presenters where needed.

• Oversee all on air productions including advertisements and promotional material.

• Assist with Sound and Vision CnM projects in a production capacity.

• Ensure the station remains on air/online at all scheduled times.

• Ensure a high standard of audio output for the Station.

• Edit and/or delegate editing of programmes that are recorded remotely.

• Provide technical assistance and sound desk training to volunteers and new staff members where needed.

• Ensure the broadcast archive and logging system is maintained.

• To plan progamme schedule three weeks in advance ensuring programming is covered.

• Produce and update the programming schedule on a weekly basis to facilitate sharing for weekly social media updates.

• To ensure the News is aired on a daily basis delegating research and production duties to production assistants/presenters. To cover Producer and Presenter role of same where necessary.

• To assist the Station Manager in establishing an organised and streamlined broadcast schedule, ensuring the smooth running of all programmes scheduled on a daily/weekly basis.

• Assist in the successful achievement of the stations strategic objective with specific emphasis given to the planned developement of the Stations broadcast schedule.

• To assist the Station Manager in the written application process and budgets
for the successful achievement of grant aided commissioned programming and documentaries through the CnM.

• Provide budget estimates for new programming for grant applications.

• Oversee and log monthly Programming and Technical Meetings, including minutes, and following up to ensure planned outcomes are achieved.
