Lorna is a Professional Genealogist and Family Historian. She is a longstanding member of the Association of Professional Genealogist. Lorna is the Resident Genealogist for Dromoland Castle in County Clare. Lorna worked as Project Genealogist for George Boole *200 genealogy project for University College Cork and is an excellent researcher for Irish family histories.

Lorna produces and presents the successful show: ‘The Genealogy Radio show’ aired each Thursday at 4p.m. from beautiful Kilkee, Co. Clare at Raidio Corcabaiscinn and Podcasts are available weekly.

Lorna has delivered conference papers at Oxford; Lincoln College: Exploration of the Medieval Gaelic Diet: (2012); seminar papers at the Moore Institute in NUI Galway, ‘The Gaelic Lordships in Thomond, c. 1400-c.1500’ and papers at Irish Conference of Medievalists on themes of Brian Boru and landscape of East Clare. Lorna has published on medieval themes and on maritime subjects. Her research areas are the MacNamaras and O’Briens of Thomond.

Lorna received her Certificate for the Advancement of Forensic Genealogy (CAFG) in Dallas in March 2015.

Radio Beams show this week is talking to 3 people about the issues of kidney disease.
1st we have Eoghan O Ceirin from Ennistymon who had a kidney transplant,but still do exchanges 3 time a day.
Then we speak to the Secretary of the Clare Kidney Association Noretta Clifford who also had a transplant and working very well. Both are very thankful to the donors .
Never to be forgotten and advise all of us to carry a donor card. Peggy Eustace who explains the great work of the Clare Kidney Association does along with the National Kidney Association.

New: Community Unity

On this week’s Community Unity, we talk all things community and have music and chat with our guests Ray Lowe and Brian Clohessy. Brian gives us some helpful information about booking bands, DJs, videographers, etc. for weddings and events as Covid-19 restrictions are easing. Ray will be delving into his extensive CD collection before focusing on the all-Ireland GAA final that took place on Saturday between Mayo and Tyrone.

Stephen Kenny postmatch after 1-1 draw with Serbia. Reaction From Tyrone manager Brian Dooher and goalkeeper Niall Morgan along with Mayo manager James Horan along with results from this weeks action in the Clare football championships.

It is presented by the Kilkee Prayer Group led by Antonio Cebas and joined in by Donnie Dillon, Anne Marie Harte and Kathleen Ryan It is an invitation to engage in Christian worship through prayer and song, as well as to reflect on the lives of the Saints whose feast day we celebrate. All listeners at home are invited to add their own prayers and petitions and together with those of the group offer them in unison to the Grace of the Lord and our Blessed Lady.

Radio Beams – 1st poet Laureate Grace Wells lives in Ennistymon

Radio Beams show this week is with Grace Wells from Ennistymon who was nominated as the 1st poet Laureate in Clare. On Saturday evening in the Falls Hotel there will be a poetry evening facilitated by the great poet Sarah Clancy. It will be streamed on line.Supported by the Arts in Clare. Grace has written books with an environmental theme in them and her poems reflect this as well.
