Lorna is a Professional Genealogist and Family Historian. She is a longstanding member of the Association of Professional Genealogist. Lorna is the Resident Genealogist for Dromoland Castle in County Clare. Lorna worked as Project Genealogist for George Boole *200 genealogy project for University College Cork and is an excellent researcher for Irish family histories.
Lorna produces and presents the successful show: ‘The Genealogy Radio show’ aired each Thursday at 4p.m. from beautiful Kilkee, Co. Clare at Raidio Corcabaiscinn and Podcasts are available weekly.
Lorna has delivered conference papers at Oxford; Lincoln College: Exploration of the Medieval Gaelic Diet: (2012); seminar papers at the Moore Institute in NUI Galway, ‘The Gaelic Lordships in Thomond, c. 1400-c.1500’ and papers at Irish Conference of Medievalists on themes of Brian Boru and landscape of East Clare. Lorna has published on medieval themes and on maritime subjects. Her research areas are the MacNamaras and O’Briens of Thomond.
Lorna received her Certificate for the Advancement of Forensic Genealogy (CAFG) in Dallas in March 2015.

A weekly 30-minute space for Christian prayer, song and devotion. It is presented by the Kilkee Prayer Group led by Anne Haugh and Kathleen Ryan and joined in by Donnie Dillon, Anne Marie Harte and Antonio Cebas. It is an invitation to engage in Christian worship through prayer and song, as well as to reflect on the lives of the Saints whose feast day we celebrate. Radio Beams – John Conroy on his Uganda trips and fitness programme
He has a lot of groups around Clare that he does fitness on zoom during the pandemic . Hope to go back to meeting people in the next few months. He does fitness for GAA teams as well.
The Clare Leader Forum is a Disabled People’s organisation working to achieve human rights for people living with disabilities in Clare. They have devised two surveys with Clare Public Participation Network and are inviting the 15,000 people living with a disability in the County to take part in this important research.
The first survey is on sports, leisure, tourism and amenity access and will be used to inform policy, submissions and advocacy. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/8DPGL62
The second survey examines what life is like in Clare for people with disabilities and how they engage in advocacy and activism. It will form part of an important and exciting Book: ‘Nothing About Us Without Us’ which is due for release in December 2021 https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/JYYFY2R

Funding announced to improve community facilities
County Clare has been allocated funding of €139,257 through the Community Enhancement Programme (CEP) 2021 to support groups as they reopen facilities that have been closed due to Covid-19. The grants are relatively small but may appeal to those groups ineligible for the Stability Fund. Closing date is at the discretion of the Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) but will be sometime in July 2021. For more information:
