On today’s Community Unity where we discuss all things community we hear from local businesses who took part in the recent Loop Head Employment Fair in Kilkee. We also hear from the Light House on the Hello Clare How are you campaign that took place in Kilrush. Denis Carty from the Saint Vincent De Paul charity on the difficulties facing households given the recent increases in the cost of living. Teresa takes us through her visit to Home Trees Charity whilst planting some trees in memory of some family members.

On this week’s Community Unity where we discuss all things community we hear from Liam Toland from Home Instead Care Limerick and Clare on the annual Essential Guide to Ageing Well 2022. Brian Clohessy is live in the studio to discuss the Loop Head Employment Fair taking place in Kilkee and other community events. We are also joined by Olive Halpin from the Clare charity Ray of Sunshine telling us about their work in Kenya hel ping young girls who have experienced severe trauma. We hear the community announcements of any events occurring in the locality. We also have some recordings from the St Patrick’s day parade held in Doonbeg on March 18th. Our latest recruit Teresa Glendinning, who joined RCB last week as a Broadcasting Assistant is in to introduce herself. Welcome aboard Teresa. Teresa will be getting into the heart of the community and over the weekend she caught up with local artist Kim Thittichai.

On today’s Community Unity where we discuss all things community we are joined by Brian Clohessy to hear all about the Saint Patrick’s day festivals coming up in the locality. Tony Downes from the Central Statistical Office tells us all about the upcoming Census due to take place on April 3. We also hear from Padraig Ryan about the Euro Languages College immersive language programme aimed at pupils in second level education studying French, English and German. Gerard Costello from Muintir na Tíre also joins us to talk about their work supporting local communities.

On this weeks Community Unity where we discuss all things community we speak with Emlyn Cullen a Manager with the National Spring Clean campaign calling on volunteers in County Clare to come out to sign up to the largest anti-litter initiative. Brian Clohessy is in to talk about what to expect with the up coming Census due to take place in April and to tell us about the St Patrick’s day parades in the area. Mike Lowe is another live guest in to talk to us about his brother our late volunteer Ray Lowe and to tell us about his show that he now does for RCB called Mike’s Melodies. We also hear from Brian Egan about the Run for Mick 5k due to take place in Doonbeg on March 13th, as a fond way to remember his late father Mick Egan.

On this week’s Community Unity where we discuss all things community we are joined by Finbarr Touhey from Clare Enterprise Board telling us about
the services of the Enterprise Board, Micro Finance Ireland and Enterprise week. John Keane tells us about the 60th West Clare Drama Festival held in Doonbeg to begin on 5th March. Neil Hynes from Miltown Malbay Community Centre tells is about what we can do to donate aid to those fleeing to
Poland from the Ukraine. The various collection points in West Clare are also highlighted. Lorna Fitzpatrick, Advocacy and Engagement Manager with the NCBI also talks about the services of the NCBI and the review into the Disabled Drivers and Disabled Passenger scheme.

Brian Clohessy is live in the studio to discuss keeping safe during the storms and the upcoming St Patrick’s day parades in Kilkee and Kilrush. We also hear from Rory Chesser from Ennis Track Club about their accomplishments. Meadhbh Chambers joins us to tell us about her newly published children’s book Rosie the Daisy. On today’s Community Unity where we discuss all things community we chat with Elaine Cliffard from Ennis Money Advice and Budgeting service on the invaluable work they are doing assisting people out of debt. We also hear from Sinead Gibney Chief Commissioner with the Irish Human Rights and
Equality Commission about their latest Strategy Statement. Marcella Casey is in to get the word out on the great work of Employability Clare in helping people with disabilities access employment. On today’s Community Unity where we discuss all things community, we have a tribute to Peter Carberry ‘Foxy’ who regularly played in sessions in Clare and beyond and who sadly passed away last week. Also today we have Brian Clohessy live in the studio to talk about the problem of illegal dumping in our community. We hear from Barry Flinn from GIY about the Big Grow 2022 schools initiative for primary schools. Morwenna Kersual also joins us from the West Clare Family Resource Centre about their programme of activities for the over 55’s which are starting up from February 14th.

On today’s Community Unity where we discuss all things community, we hear from Richard Ryder from the Disabled Drivers Association of Ireland about a parking app for disabled drivers that is currently being piloted in Limerick. We also hear from John Lannon, CEO of DORIS about the campaign announced last week by over 40 bodies to ensure the government fulfills its commitment to end Direct Provision in Ireland. Also today we hear from Dr Noirin Burke, Director of Education Galway Atlantaquaria, National Aquarium of Ireland about the ‘We are Ocean Champions’ school programme in Counties Galway and Clare. Finally we hear from John Aston from Loop Head Together about the Loop Head Energy Action Partnership (LEAP) where a group of students from University of Flensburg are undertaking an energy study/audit of the Loop Head peninsula, with a focus on solar energy.

On today’s Community Unity where we discuss all things community, we hear from Jennifer Flynn from Drinkaware about a free mental health booklet to prevent the misuse of alcohol. We also hear from Joanne Dillon from Kilkee Playground and Astro Turf about their upcoming fundraising campaign. Gerry Hayes from Ennis Track Club tells us about the 30 years that the club has been operating and some of the club’s successful participants over the years.

On today’s Community Unity where we discuss all things community we hear from Mary Lennon and the role Craol play in supporting and developing
Community Radio stations throughout Ireland. We also hear from James Lafferty from the Clare Red Cross about their trojan work, fundraising efforts and their service bringing people throughout the county to medical appointments throughout the country.

On todays Community Unity where we discuss all things community we hear from Fiona Gratzer, CEO of Unislim where she tells us what Unislim have to offer for people wishing to improve their health and lifestyle in the year ahead. Brian Clohessy is live in the studio to give some valuable tips for feeding and learning about our beautiful wild birds over the winter months. We hear from Dr Fran Giaquinto on a webinar training series on Invasive Species and we also feature a short documentary Fran had made with film maker Tony Whelan called ‘Death in the woods’. We also hear from James Flanagan co-ordinator with Age and Opportunity about the Fitline programme aimed at getting older people more involved in arts, culture, sport and physical activity.

On todays Community Unity we discuss all things Christmas. We hear from Kevin Heapes about the Winter Solstice event taking place in the Querrin on the evening of the solstice. We have plenty of Christmas songs from the past and present, plus poetry and stories from times gone by. We chat about Christmas traditions and have some Christmas tips for the Christmas dinner.

On today’s community unity where we talk all things community we are joined by Cllr Cillian Murphy a great friend of the Station here at Kilkee and we would like to thank him and Clare County Council for their continued support of us and the work that we do. Cillian is in to tell us about the events taking place in Kilkee for Christmas by the sea 2021.
Sadhbh Smyth also tells us about the treasure hunt taking place as part of the festivities. We also hear the material pulled together for the recent Craol awards and our award winning shows Tune in for the Tunes with Brian Clohessy and Let Erin Remember. Tom Nugent from the Killimer Local History Group is in the studio to chat about a virtual book launch ‘Living on the Wild Atlantic Way Through a Lens’ taking place in Killimer parish. We also hear some clips from the archives ‘Flanagan’s Shenanigans’ which are sure to entertain.
