Radio Beams show this week is with well know Dr Moosajee Bhamjee who was born in South Africa . Came here on scholarship to do medicine. Trained as a Psychiatrist. Married a Coorclare woman who was a nurse .
By 1992 he was asked to stand for election for Labour. To everyone’s surprise he got elected. Only ran for one election.

Radio Beams show this week is with well know Margret O Brien CEO of Ennis Chamber of Commerce. Margaret is an Ennis person and knows the town very well. There are 189 members of the Chamber. A lot of accountants and solicitors. Ennis has evolved over the years. Getting on line is a big challenge for the small business these days. There is lots of help there and so Ennis is a becoming a very competitive town.

The Genealogy Show – The night of the big wind 1839


Lorna is a Professional Genealogist and Family Historian. She is a longstanding member of the Association of Professional Genealogist. Lorna is the Resident Genealogist for Dromoland Castle in County Clare. Lorna worked as Project Genealogist for George Boole *200 genealogy project for University College Cork and is an excellent researcher for Irish family histories.

Lorna produces and presents the successful show: ‘The Genealogy Radio show’ aired each Thursday at 4p.m. from beautiful Kilkee, Co. Clare at Raidio Corcabaiscinn and Podcasts are available weekly.

Lorna has delivered conference papers at Oxford; Lincoln College: Exploration of the Medieval Gaelic Diet: (2012); seminar papers at the Moore Institute in NUI Galway, ‘The Gaelic Lordships in Thomond, c. 1400-c.1500’ and papers at Irish Conference of Medievalists on themes of Brian Boru and landscape of East Clare. Lorna has published on medieval themes and on maritime subjects. Her research areas are the MacNamaras and O’Briens of Thomond.

Lorna received her Certificate for the Advancement of Forensic Genealogy (CAFG) in Dallas in March 2015.

Radio Beams show this week is with Rena Bacik Her daughter Ivana who attend a meeting in the Old Ground Hotel to honour the late Paddy Hogan TD who was 1st elected in 1923. Rena Bacik nee Murphy was born in Kilkee.
Rena did not like the national school in Kilkee as it was very tough. Her mother went to Dublin to deliver the 3 children she had.

Radio Beams – Luka Bloom – Barry Moor is 50 Years Singing.

Radio Beams show this week is with well know Luka Bloom.
Luka now lives in west Clare and loves it. Luka loves local football and goes to many matches. He has been in the USA 25 times and loved Australia.He and a few friends are playing a big gig in the National Concert Hall.
Also on Sunday October 30th he and Fiddle Case are playing in Knockerra Church in west Clare at 7pm.
