Radio Beams – The burning of Ruan Barracks by Lenoard McDonagh and Joe Keane.

Radio Beams show this week is with two men involved in the Ruan /Dysart historical society. They are Joe Keane and Leonard McDonagh. They tell the story of the burning of Ruan RIC Barracks in 18th of October 1920. This was executed to perfection by a very disciplined Mid Clare IRA Brigade. Radio Beams – Ger Madden on Holy Island in Lough Derg

Radio Beams this weeks show is with well know Ger Madden of Mountshannon here in Clare. He has written a number of books on Inish Celtra or Holy Island on Lough Derg which has 18 hectors and is at the mouth of Scariff bay.
Ger does boat trips during fine weather to the island in small sustainable groups.
The island was bough in 2015 by Clare County Council with a view to managing it with the Office of Public Works to preserves the heritage of the various monostatic sites.

Radio Beams – Palestine Ambassodor in Co Clare.

Radio Beams show this week is with the Palestine Ambassador to Ireland. She was on a recent visit to Ennis. She talks about the size of the population. Ireland export powered milk to Palestine. We import fruit from there. They have lived in crisis for decades and looking for support maintain their lands and build a quality of life for their people.

Radio Beams – Eugene Drennan, Owner of Spa Transport

Radio Beams show this week is with Eugene Drennan owner of Spa Transport haulage company based in Ennis.
Drennans two children had Cystic Fibrosis. Beautiful Katie died at 24 and her brother had a successful double lung operation. Linda his wife died of cancer in recent years.
Eugene tells how he feels about this grief.
Eugene is the national chair if the Irish Haulage Organisation.

Radio Beams – Dermot Hayes with Ronan Summerly and Andy Palfreyman.

Radio Beams show this week is with two band members Ronan Summerly and Andy Palfreyman in Clare.
Who speak about the feelings about not been able to play in venues around Clare and outside Clare due to the Covid restrictions. Both respect the covid regulations.
Ronan plays in a band called the Apprentice Daughters and Andy plays in band called APE although Andy is well know drummer with Bushplant.

Radio Beams – Tom Golden in Cratloe with community owned solar power farm

Radio Beams show this week is with Tom Golden who with a few others in Cratloe is setting up a solar panel farm. They are three quarters of the way there.
It is expensive but the over 25 yrs it will have paid for itself and enormous benefit to the community. They are also asking residents locally to retro fit their home and supporting people in doing this.
Tom like many fears for the planet and hope more people with join in and give credit to the Cratloe Community Development for their work.
