As we celebrate the 2nd Sunday of Advent we continue to reflect on the meaning and significance of Advent for all Christians. Advent not only helps us focus better and get ready for the arrival of Christmas, it also nourishes us spiritually and insulates us from the rush and materialistic trappings that precede it. On the day of his feast day, the 6th of December, we highlight the life and historical importance of one of Christianity’s most revered and popular saints: Saint Nicholas of Myra, Patron Saint of sailors and mariners in the Eastern Church and of Children in the Western Church. We will accompany the show with some music associated with this remarkably popular Saint.

This week’s show highlights the significance and importance of the season of Advent which starts this Sunday, as a means to better understand and appreciate the true meaning of Christmas. Also we will remember the festivity of St. Andrew Apostle and Martyr, Patron saint of Scotland and founder of the eastern Christian Church.
