City of Dublin Education and Training Board (City of Dublin ETB) was established on 1st July 2013 under the Education and Training Boards Act, 2013. City of Dublin ETB has 3,000 employees and an annual budget of €580m. It is the state education and training authority for Dublin city and serves the area covered by Dublin City Council. This provision is delivered to over 48,000 learners (20,000 full-time and 28,000 part-time) and is supported by a range of services including a psychological service, a curriculum development unit, a buildings maintenance unit and Head Office staff in Ballsbridge. It also has statutory responsibility for supporting the provision, coordination, administration and assessment of youth work services in Dublin city and is the lead partner for Music Generation Dublin City. City of Dublin ETB is also responsible for the national awarding authority for student grants in Ireland, Student Universal Support Ireland (SUSI).

The Community Media Further Education Project will empower disadvantaged and marginalized groups to bridge the digital divide by stimulating and developing their abilities through the training in and application of media and Information and Communications Technology. Using creative and innovative approaches, the Community Media Project will support and encourage local organizations and individuals to re-engage with further education and lifelong learning while producing media content that will benefit their communities and themselves.

Our Mission Statement obliges us to use our array of media technologies to work with local groups and to empower and train marginalized and disadvantaged groups in line with the City of Dublin ETB objectives.

The project works with a diversity of local education organisations and disadvantaged groups by providing training in and application of Media and Information and Communications Technologies.

Using the flexibility available for such a community-based partnership project, we have been creative and innovative in encouraging students and local people to engage and re-engage with Further Education and Lifelong Learning while producing media content that will benefit their communities and themselves.

Salary

€38,217 – €54,367 (including long service increment).

Starting pay on the Grade IV salary scale will be dependent on the applicant’s

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinating and supporting the training for and the production of media for all platform dissemination.
  • Working independently on projects leading staff and volunteers.
  • Supporting and managing active community participation in Near TV and Near FM training and productions.
  • Responsibility for liaison with the community and adult education sectors.
  • Sourcing, developing and co-ordination of media training and technical and digital needs.
  • Developing training initiatives and learning from best practice at local and European level, taking part in European project work and working with Leargas and other related partners and agencies.

CLOSED Outreach and Training Coordinator 

Outreach and Training Coordinator  – 24 hours per week

Location: South West Clare Community Radio CLG T/A Raidió Corca Baiscinn, Community Centre, Circular Road , Kilkee, Co Clare.
 
 This position is funded through Pobal and the Department Rural and Community Development.

Main Function
To build partnerships with local community and key target groups, promote and facilitate volunteer participation in the station and design and deliver training aimed at building the confidence and capacity of volunteers to ensure quality programming.

Key Responsibilities of post

OUTREACH:
• Create and foster links with local community groups, schools and other target groups
• Assist with promoting the station in the community and raising visibility.
• Contribute to planning and organising community-focused Station activities.
• help with recruiting and retaining of volunteers

TRAINING:
• in conjunction with the manager Prepare a comprehensive annual training plan
• Researching, identifying, sourcing and applying for training funding from State agencies, local authorities, European and Irish grants etc.
• Design and-deliver a programme of training aimed at building the confidence and capacity of volunteers to ensure quality programming.
• Deliver one to one training and feedback to volunteers when required
• Induct and coordinate and deliver volunteer training
• Coordinate and facilitate work placements
While all members of staff have individual job descriptions they are required to collaborate with all other staff. S/he may be expected to work in different locations and to undertake other duties from time to time including occasional weekend work.

Essentials skills required for this post
• A strong working knowledge of broadcasting, radio production and techniques
Experience of developing, planning and delivering QQI training (with a ‘Train the Trainer’ qualification)
Ability to communicate and work with a diverse range of individuals and organisations
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work on own initiative and priorities own work to meet agreed objective
• Ability to work as part of a team

Programming Controller – Temporary Position

Programming Coordinator 39 hours per week CSP

• The role of the Programming Coordinator is to lead and oversee all broadcast production operations of the Station. The Programming Coordinator reports to the Station Manager.

• To coordinate and organise day to day programming and schedule ensuring all programmes are prepared, up to date, and all presenters are in place.

• To cover presenter roles and provide desk support to presenters where needed.

• Oversee all on air productions including advertisements and promotional material.

• Assist with Sound and Vision CnM projects in a production capacity.

• Ensure the station remains on air/online at all scheduled times.

• Ensure a high standard of audio output for the Station.

• Edit and/or delegate editing of programmes that are recorded remotely.

• Provide technical assistance and sound desk training to volunteers and new staff members where needed.

• Ensure the broadcast archive and logging system is maintained.

• To plan progamme schedule three weeks in advance ensuring programming is covered.

• Produce and update the programming schedule on a weekly basis to facilitate sharing for weekly social media updates.

• To ensure the News is aired on a daily basis delegating research and production duties to production assistants/presenters. To cover Producer and Presenter role of same where necessary.

• To assist the Station Manager in establishing an organised and streamlined broadcast schedule, ensuring the smooth running of all programmes scheduled on a daily/weekly basis.

• Assist in the successful achievement of the stations strategic objective with specific emphasis given to the planned developement of the Stations broadcast schedule.

• To assist the Station Manager in the written application process and budgets
for the successful achievement of grant aided commissioned programming and documentaries through the CnM.

• Provide budget estimates for new programming for grant applications.

• Oversee and log monthly Programming and Technical Meetings, including minutes, and following up to ensure planned outcomes are achieved.

Main Function: To increase the overall development of South West Clare Community Radio Limited by Guarantee by increasing total revenues acquired by the station.

Key Responsibilities of the post:


Income:
• Researching, identifying, sourcing, and applying for funding from State agencies, local authorities, European and Irish grants etc. especially applications for commissioned programming.
• Explore and develop new advertising and sponsorship opportunities. Liaise with existing customers, with groups in conjunction with station staff and members.
• Organise and attend fundraisers, promotions, and events.

Marketing and Public Relations:
• Plan, develop and implement Marketing and PR strategies.
• Writing and distributing press releases and devising photo opportunities.
• Maintain social media platforms (Twitter, FB) engaging with social media users.
• Develop contacts and liaise with businesses and community organisations.
• Fostering community relations through organising and attending events such as open days.
• Encourage the recruitment of radio volunteers.
• Help create promotional material, coordinate the fundraising Committee, and liaise with the Finance and Budget and S&V committee.
• Exploit our Outside Broadcasting potential with regard to Traded Income and own-brand awareness.
• Undertake to work the non-social hours involved using ‘time-in-lieu’.
• Assist in the effective operation of the station.
• Report to, liaise with and accept direction from Station Manager.
